A Lockheed KC-130B Hercules, over 50 years old, took off from Soewondo Air Base in Medan, North Sumatra, carrying 122 people — including soldiers, their families, and crew. Just two minutes after takeoff, engine number 4 failed, causing the plane to lose altitude and crash into the densely populated Djamin Ginting Street. The result: 139 lives lost in less than 120 seconds.
