Sonic the Hedgehog - The Original Generations Stages

Описание: Recently I realized 2 things. First, I have a lot of Sonic games. Second, I really, really wish I had a system that could run Sonic Generations. So while I can't play Generations, I did the next best thing and played the original levels. And tested out some new encoding stuff while I was at it.

This was done all in one take, so there's mistakes unfortunately. But I think it turned out alright. All the Genesis games are from Sonic Mega Collection Plus for PS2. The Sonic Adventure games are the Gamecube versions. Sonic Heroes and Sonic Unleashed are the PS2 versions.

I did not include the following - Stardust Speedway (the Metal Sonic battle from Sonic CD, don't own it, though I did fight Metal Sonic if that makes you happy), Crisis City (Don't own the game), Silver battle (Ditto), Planet Wisp (don't own it), or Egg Dragoon (haven't got that far yet).

If you just want to get to a certain part, see the list below

0:14 - Green Hill Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog) - Turned out pretty good. Not much to say, really, it's Green Hill zone. Since it's quick, I did all three stages.
4:26 - Chemical Plant Zone (Sonic 2) - Another pretty nice run. I took Tails along thinking he would be some help. I was wrong.
9:07 - Hidden Palace Zone/Sky Sanctuary Zone (Sonic and Knuckles) - I included the quick interlude at Hidden Palace so I could fight Knuckes and get a little story context. Not very happy with the Sky Sanctuary run at all (it's easily the hardest of the stages on this video), I took it slow since the precise platforming and surprise EggRobos scare me a bit. The bosses are laughably simple here though.
17:45 - Death Egg Zone (Sonic 2) - Ugly. This is of course the Death Egg Robot boss, but there's Mecha Sonic too. First try, I make a dumb mistake on Mecha Sonic. Second, I make a dumb mistake on Eggman. I get a bit more conservative for my last try and manage to take them down.
21:26 - Speed Highway (Sonic Adventure) -Pretty clumsy, but passable. Getting used to a new controller. Also kinda glitched through a wall at one point or something. Also, just a note, I absolutely hate the DC-era English voice overs, so I play with the Japanese voices.
26:18 - City Escape (Sonic Adventure 2) - Well, I didn't die. But it's an ugly run. Particularly when I intentionally lost my lightning shield so I could do a light-dash easier, and missed the rings (I went back to get them out of spite). Or when I took the low road because I thought the high road didn't exist near the end (it doesn't on Hard). Oh well.
30:44 - Seaside Hill (Sonic Heroes) - Probably my best run of the stage ever. I decided not to do Ocean Palace too since, well, this is enough Sonic Heroes for anyone. Side note - I think Sonic's gratuitous English on the Japanese voicetrack is awesome.
38:26 - Shadow 2 (Sonic Adventure 2) - Pretty good. Showed a few different ways of fighting him.
41:08 - Perfect Chaos (Sonic Adventure) - Ugh, I know he's supposedly easy, but I have never been good at fighting him. Took me three tries, and I kept catching myself on a corner. The third time I finally got the hang of it, and got him. Skip to 47:57 if you wanna go past the fails.
51:43 - Rooftop Run Day Stage (Sonic Unleashed) - It's impossible to make a day stage run in this game look bad. I try my best to, but I still think it looks pretty decent.
