Sakshi Sawhney is the first woman D.C of Amritsar and she has won hearts with her frontline relief work in the Punjab Floods. The daughter of a revenue service officer and a teacher, Sakshi trained to be a lawyer but found her heart drawn towards public service and the UPSC. While many politicians have been missing on the ground, and Punjab's relief has been left to the hardy courage of locals and NGOs, here's one officer who gives hope - "Yeh Kamai mere liye sab kuch hai" Sakshi tells Barkha Dutt about the hugs she carries with her, along with sanitary pads and essential relief items to flood hit areas
