1945 Manitowoc 2300 VICON Dragline - First Operation - Part 1

Описание: The Brownsville site has a rock floor filter pond, which must be cleaned annually. It's a nice job to demonstrate dragline skills, casting out and skimming a thin layer of soil from the rock base. The pond was dug as a show project many years ago.

This Manitowoc 2300 had just arrived, and was being test run. There were several problems with the bucket that required welding. The machine has a Twin Disc hydraulic torque converter.

The operator normally operates a Northwest dragline for a living.

"@SteamCrane Just watched the video of the 2300. Serial number 1. Built as a shovel and sold to a sand and gravel company in Saltillo, Ohio in 1945. I cleaned ponds with this machine at P.B.S. Coals at Shade Creek prep plant. It's a 220 Cummins."

The bigger Manitowoc in the background is a very rare 3500 High Front shovel. There are several videos of it digging and tramming on this channel.
