Get started with Chrome extension

The PDF.ai Chrome extension lets you chat with any PDF. Let's walk through how to get started.

It only takes a few minutes to get set up. Here’s how:

First, if you haven’t done so yet - head to the Chrome Store and search for PDF.ai

Make sure you’re installing on the right extension. You can tell it’s the real one by the blue domain - make sure it reads ‘PDF.ai’ and has a Featured badge.

Now, click ‘Add to Chrome’ and then ‘Add Extension’

Before using the extension, make sure the *Allow access to file URLs is enabled* in the settings.

Right-click the extension - click Manage extension, then Enable "Allow access to file URLs"

We’re almost there, just click the "Sign in" button in the extension popup

Once signed in, open any PDF file, whether it's from public URL with a .pdf extension or any local PDF file

After you open it, you can find the PDF.ai icon at the bottom-right corner

Click it to open the chat window and start chatting with your PDF

You can ask questions or enter keywords related to the content you're looking for. For example, if your PDF is a report on market trends, you can ask, "What are the top trends for 2024?"
