THIS IS NOT MONETISED - IT IS SHARED FOR ARCHIVAL PURPOSES
Gregg W. Bergersen was a US Navy veteran (intelligence and Electronic Warfare) working as Director of C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) for the DSCA (Defense Security Cooperation Agency) when FBI CID (Counter Intelligence Division) discovered that he was selling classified information to Tai Shen Kuo, a naturalised citizen originally from Taiwan, working as New Orleans furniture salesman. Tai Shen Kuo was covertly working for Chinese intelligence, and recruited Bergersen as his agent under the guise that the information he sold to him would be provided to Taiwan. However, it was given to China.
They were both arrested and charged with espionage. Gregg W. Bergersen pleaded guilty to conspiracy to disclose national defence information to someone not entitled to receive it. He was sentenced to 57 months (about 4 years and 9 months) in federal prison and also received three years of supervised release after his prison term. Tai Shen Kuo pleaded guilty to conspiracy to deliver national defence information to a foreign government. He was sentenced to 188 months in prison (about 15 years and 8 months) and ordered to forfeit $40,000.
This covert surveillance footage was obtained by FBI CID after clandestinely installing covert surveillance devices in the rented car they were meeting in. The sold information included all planned sales of weapons and military technology to Taiwan for the next five years.
