A mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, northern British Columbia, has left 9 people dead, including the suspected gunman, in what authorities are calling one of the deadliest incidents of its kind in Canadian history.
Police say the attack appeared to target a local high school. More than two dozen victims have been hospitalised, with emergency responders rushing to the scene. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed that the suspect was found dead, believed to have suffered a self-inflicted injury.
British Columbia Premier David Eby described the tragedy as “unimaginable,” as the community grapples with shock and grief. Investigators are now working to determine the motive and timeline of events.
