Bilingualism has always been important for me bc it has allowed me to have heart-to-hearts with my abuela, laugh with my family that lives in Colombia and fully connect with my Hispanic culture. It has also opened the door in many areas of my life. That’s why when I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted the same for my child & here’s how I’m doing that at home! P.S: Full disclosure, there are definitely times when I forget and talk to him in English 😅 If I catch myself doing so, I simply repeat it again in Spanish. It’s about expsure, not perfection 🥰 ***update bc ‘ve been getting many questions about this: we use OPOL bc my husband doesn’t speak English so it’s what works best for our family but if both parents can speak the language even better ✨What other speechie related things should we talk about next? 🤩
