Lord Peter Mandelson is being held by detectives tonight after being arrested on suspicion of 'misconduct in public office'.
Metropolitan Police officers visited the 72-year-old peer's London home late on Monday afternoon.
He emerged grim-faced and was taken away in a car.
Mandelson, who was sacked as the UK's Ambassador to the US last September, is under criminal investigation after he was named in the Jeffrey Epstein files.
