Oh, innocent Jake from three weeks ago…. Let’s just say Toad’s Factory is a piece of work. But I wanted to get a second remix out this month so I guess welcome back to the Mario Land 2 series! I was requested to do the “Machine” theme, so after finding out that the theme plays in “Turtle Zone” (the level, not the world; styled after a submarine), I figured the Airship Theme was a perfect fit. Enjoy!

Composition Notes:

This is actually one of the fastest turnarounds I’ve had on a remix; I started about 3 days ago! This was a novel experience though as I haven’t been requested an airship theme before. I was initially thrown off by the Major Key but I ended up basing the arrangement around SMB3 Airship Edit and adding subtleties from the other 4, like in Channel 1’s mechanical noises. This one was also particularly fun to work on because there’s not much in the way of melody/chord progression, so I had a lot more freedom than usual! Oh and yes I cheated at the end, I just couldn’t find a good way to end it. Multi-Layer Mix purists, look the other way!
