Windshield of a Triumph Speed Triple R. Example of Resurfacing from 3D Scan in Geomagic Design X
This brief example showcases a resurfacing process starting from a 3D scan of the windshield of a Triumph Speed Triple R motorcycle. The entire reconstruction work was carried out using Geomagic Design X, which, although not inherently a Class-A surfacing tool like Alias, still allows for the creation of high-quality surfaces.
The generated surfaces are sufficiently accurate and smooth for many downstream applications, and they can be further refined if necessary. While the results are satisfactory for the current stage, there is still room for improvement, especially in areas where surface continuity and curvature transitions are critical.
