Yamagata from above and Train from Jimmachi Station (Yamagata Airport) to Shinjo Station

From Jimmachi Station it only takes 3 Stations to experience a former School which was transformed to a nice and modern Guesthouse. https://www.yamagataguesthouse.com/
Its about 500 Meters from the Station. If that is too far for you, you can also enjoy the Murayama Hotel directly located at the Station.

Drive 2 more Stations to Oishida Station and you can take the Bus to the famous Ginzan Onsen Hot Spring.
The last Stop Shinjo Station consists of a beautiful new building with lots of room to chill, shop and eat.

Go back to the first crossing and you see on the right side a sweet Shop.

You can also arrive there with the Yamagata Shinkansen (not at Jimmachi Station), which drives back to Yamagata Station all the way to Tokyo. Also the Train to Yokobori is departing there, where you can chance the Train to Akita.

At the moment, the Train to Amarume Station is interrupted due to construtions and repairing on the Railway. To get there you need to get out from the Train Gates buy a normal Ticket at the Ticket Maschine and go out of the Station to the Bus Terminals. Check the depature time at the Screen at the Station. Also check, depending on where you will get out, which Bus you take! Some Busses are driving directly to Amamrume Station without any stop at the other Stations!
