In this in-depth interview, one of the most original and influential voices in EU law reflects on a range of pressing and longstanding issues in the evolution of European legal reasoning. The conversation explores the relationship between (EU) (Competition) Law and other cognitive areas (such as e.g., economics and policymaking); the mobilisation of rights-based and efficiency-based arguments in the EU adjudication process; the reform of the preliminary ruling mechanism; the role of Central European legal thinking in the development of EU law and many other dynamic questions shaping EU law and legal practice today.
