During a cheerleading event, a fight between two people led to panic and the evacuation of the convention center. The fight caused a loud noise by knocking down several poles, leading people to believe gunshots were fired. This led to a stampede in which several injuries were reported, although none were life-threatening.
The National Cheerleading Association canceled the rest of the day's events as a precaution. Dallas police are investigating the incident and it has not yet been confirmed if there were any arrests.
