This is a truly surprising incident. Both had fallen into the well — one was a Russell’s viper, and the other was a mongoose.
They had been inside the well for about four days. People living nearby had thoughtfully provided food and water into the well. Snakes do not require frequent feeding; in fact, they can survive comfortably for one or even two months without food.
The person who contacted us mentioned that the mongoose had been given fish yesterday. Seeing this really shows how kind and compassionate people in our society can be.
We safely rescued Russell’s viper, and for the mongoose, a wooden log was placed inside the well to help it climb out on its own.
