In this video, we circle back to the Mooer 005 Preamp pedal to demo the difference between plugging the pedal into the front of your amp, and plugging it into the FX Return in the back of your amp.
There's a distinct difference in both examples. Plugging into the front essentially double stacks two preamps and the results can be less than ideal. Plugging a preamp pedal into the back of the amp via the FX Return bypasses the on board preamp/EQ and leaves the driving to your preamp pedal instead. The audible difference is noticeable for sure.
