Need a DIY Black Panther mask? Got you covered. In this final part of the Black Panther costume, I'll show you how to make a DIY Black Panther mask out of Fosshape (because if you saw my first attempt at Black Panther's mask a couple years ago, you probably agree it was definitely time for a better upgrade). Fosshape is a neat heat-reactive felt (made by the same people who make Wonderflex) that will hold any shape you put it in. This one is based mostly on the one from the Black Panther movie, though I simplified it a bit.
This mask doesn't actually fit me, because I made it to fit one of my friend's kids (who was too shy to be in the video), and I haven't made a bigger one for myself yet. But I enlarged the pattern to make it fit bigger heads (though depending on your head size, you may still have to shrink or enlarge the template a bit).
MATERIALS USED:
Black panther mask template (Download it free from my patterns vault: http://thewoodlandelf.com/free-sewing...)
1 foot of Fosshape black (Available at www.WonderflexWorld.com - It's sold by the yard, so you'll have some leftover for other projects, or in case you make a mistake)
Needle and thread or sewing machine
Glue that won't melt when heated up (Power-tac: http://amzn.to/2ixOyvy)
6 inches of pleather (found in JoAnn Fabrics)
Metallic silver paint (Silver Anniversary: http://amzn.to/2D7mnMq)
Paintbrush
Scrap pieces of white chiffon (found in most fabric stores, JoAnn's, etc.)
Awl
Black yarn (Acrylic: http://amzn.to/2DlVGHi)
Heat gun or other heat source
Head form in your head's size

*** The materials listed above are the products I actually used for this project. I find that people often want to know exactly what I use, so I've started including exact links when I can find them. However, it's simply meant as a guide and you can substitute with whatever comparable brands/products you might have available in your own area. Also some of the links may be affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission from the company if a sale is made. It doesn't cost you any extra; it's just a simple way to help support my work on this channel. (I just figured, hey, as long as I was posting the links anyway, I might as well make them affiliate links)
