How To Cut Thick Porcelain Tile Without A Tile Saw

Описание: Porcelain tiles are much stronger than ceramic tiles which makes them great products for flooring. However, the same scratch and crack resistance that makes them good for flooring makes them difficult to cut. Professional tile workers will use either a wet or dry tile saw to make their straight cuts. Wet saws are usually messy and require disposal of the sludge after cutting. Dry tile saws are a bit cleaner, but are still a single purpose tool that just takes up space in your garage.

Since I only do about one tile project per year, I don't want any dedicated tools, and I don't really want to have to deal with the setup and cleanup of using these tools. We found that we could achieve just as good of a cut with a standard angle grinder and a diamond bit blade. Angle grinders require a steady hand to get clean cuts. Angle grinders can also cut any shape or size tile. I recommend getting at least a 6 amp corded grinder because this is a high power tool and will drain batteries quickly.
