A new center has been built for Hartzell carbon fiber propeller production, WhirlWind experimental and airboat propeller production, and the factory’s Piqua-based Hartzell Service Center, it is also the new home for the Hartzell Service Center and R&D. Hartzell has received a JobsOhio grant of $2 million, plus Hartzell has committed more than $10 million to invest in the center over the next 5 years. The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is bringing its Air Power Tour 2026 to several cities across the United States this year. The tour is a flying museum that brings rare, flyable World War II aircraft to cities to educate the public and honor military veterans. Visitors can see and touch the planes, and hear the sounds of the engines that powered World War II aircraft. An arbitrator has determined that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) violated the collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) of the approximately 11,000 union members of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists (PASS), AFL-CIO. The arbitrator issued a decision in favor of PASS-represented employees at the FAA who had filed a grievance regarding the across-the-board cancellation of routine telework and remote work arrangements.
