A Little Respect | Baritone & Concert Ukulele Cover

Well helloooooo there! We thought you might enjoy this little all-ukulele cover of one of the biggest bubble gum pop hits of the 80s: A Little Respect by Erasure.

We've been performing this one for a few years as part of our looper set, but we're usually on a couple of electric guitars and we thiought it would be fun to arrange this one for two ukuleles. Mat's Baritone uke is carrying the rhythm, while soph spent about four days transposing the synth parts into a few choice fingerstyle patterns that are different to each other, but similar enough to be an absolute mind scrambler.

I'm pretty sure there were at least three separate occasions on which we decided to forget the picked parts and just both strum the hell out of this one, but we're glad we persevered as it sounds great and really lifts the song in a few places - not least of which is the delay effect Soph kicks on towards the final third of the song: It's timed to a quarter-note triplet... whatever that is...

Anyway, we're loving this double uke stuff and we're hoping to have a couple of hour's worth of material by the end of the summer... it'll be a cool addition to our daytime shenanigans - and imagine only having to carry a little light axe to work... oh my thankful spine...
