As We Fall — Genshin Impact AMV (Luna II)

Описание: My second Nod Krai patch-specific AMV is here. I'll admit this was very hard for me to do, mainly for choosing a song that properly conveys the story's themes. I thus chose the last resort, went to League music, while never having played League (I did watch Arcane).

I tried to convey the idea that, under the tragic love story, there is genuinely something sinister about the relationship between Rerir and Tholindis. I mean, Rerir was raised in a cult-like way into participating in a genocide, to the point of even killing children as young as 6. Tholindis, I can understand her fear and need to protect herself with her mixed heritage, but another side of me feels like she's selfish, seeing children of her heritage die and doing nothing until the end. Even Rerir only snapped out of it when his lover was in the target list.

I don't like what they did. But I like that it's realistic. I can see why circumstances led to these actions. Rerir is arguably the best written villain they've ever added to Genshin. But as Nefer said, a monster born from tragedy is still a monster. I am glad they made him irredeemable.

(On that note I did try to incorporate Nefer into this, but it was the other huge challenge for me. This patch had so much lore, so much story, it was insane.)

This was my favourite story in Genshin, but in the end I just stared into space. I felt depressed that it reminds me of the real world, where the most inhuman excuses for killing children, just because of their race or religion, are being normalized. Remember, 🇵🇸 must be free.
