Advancing Excellence's 9 Goals can now be watched in videos, showcasing how the AE Goals align and support the recently published Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Programs' (CMS) quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives. Varying between 4 to 7 minutes each, these videos can be used during huddles or in-services as teaching tools for all staff levels from all departments.
Spearheaded by Dr. Alice Bonner, each video is dedicated to 1 goal. Dominic Chianese, formerly Uncle Junior in the television series, The Sopranos, opens each video with an introduction of the goal and the benefits it provides to nursing homes.
Real-life challenges faced by nursing homes every day are demonstrated for each goal, using actual nursing home staff and residents, actors and AE staff. Scenarios are created, offering clues to stumbling blocks nursing homes might encounter. Final seconds in the video describes how the AE goal addresses the challenge.
Gotham Studios, an Emmy-winning multimedia production company in Washington, D.C., coordinated the videography and editing. Forest Hills DC - Inclusive Senior Living provided filming locations, services and support, and their residents and staff.
