Whistle Blowers Protection Act, 2011 is an Act of the Parliament of India which provides a mechanism to investigate alleged corruption and misuse of power by public servants and also protect anyone who exposes alleged wrongdoing in government bodies, projects and offices. Whistle Blowers Protection Act was passed by the Rajya Sabha in Feb 2014 but it still hasn’t been operationalised by the Government.
Anjali Bhardwaj a Member of National Campaign for People's Right to Information (NCPRI) explains how the Whistle Blowers Protection (Amendment) Bill introduced on May 11, 2015, severely weakens the provisions of the original Act.
