Описание: Early in the 4th week, the cranio-caudal folding occurs as the embryo bends along its head-to-tail axis, forming the primitive body outline. The lateral plate folding causes the sides of the embryo to fold inward, enclosing the gut tube and creating the body wall. This process results in the formation of the three main body cavities: the pleural cavities, which will house the lungs 🫁; the pericardial cavity, the space surrounding the developing heart ❤️; and the peritoneal cavity, the abdominal space that will contain digestive organs 🍽️. These coordinated folding movements and cavity formations are essential for correct organ placement and the development of the functional body, the normal development of the thoracic and abdominal structures.
