This class will focus on juglone, a chemical released by walnut trees which diffuses into the soil and may affect seed germination and plant growth

Dilution calculation to prepare 500 cm³ of 1.0 × 10⁻³ mol dm⁻³ solution from 0.1 mol dm⁻³ juglone stock

Full experiment method to measure:

✅ seedling growth after 10 days

🦠 Nitrite Ions & Bacterial Growth (Analysis + Evaluation)
This class will explain the use of a microwell plate investigation at 37°C for 24 hours to test how nitrite concentration affects pathogenic bacteria population growth using optical density
✅ In this class, will cover:
Identifying other variables to standardise (volume of bacterial suspension, initial number of bacteria, volume of nitrite solution, nutrient broth amount, etc.)
Understanding the bar chart: lowest nitrite concentration where no growth occurred after 24 hours
Data types:
✅ species = categorical
✅ nitrite concentration = continuous
Calculating percentage difference between two closely related Salmonella species
Evaluating a student’s conclusion about nitrites improving health and giving 4 scientific reasons why it may not be valid
