So areas around Salem like five oaks, Dayton View or Cornell Heights would be consider NW Dayton & Places around West Third like Westwood, Residence Park, Crown Point & them areas are the West / SouthWest side of Dayton.

the south side of Dayton is where the university of Dayton is so it’s filled with college kids & a restaurant strip. It’s lowkey and a cool area to live. Oak wood is a nice area on the near south side as well . Very historic area.
