Dakota Luther broke out onto the world stage in 2017 at the World Championships. Following that, she began a college career a few years later at Georgia. Dakota had a successful college career that culminated in a 5th year spent at Texas under Coach Carol Capitani.
In 2022, Dakota found herself on the World Championships team headed to Melbourne, Australia. In a stunner to the whole field, Dakota won gold in the 200 fly, beating out a field that included Olympic medalist Haley Flickinger. In 2023, Dakota placed 4th at U.S. Nationals, but went on to swim the 2nd fastest time in the country. Heading into Olympic Trials, Dakota has a clear shot to make the Olympic team but has to peak at the right time.
