Former prime minister Gordon Brown has suggested Scottish independence could be avoided if the House of Lords was abolished and replaced with a "senate of the nations and regions".
He told ITV News Political Editor Robert Peston that Boris Johnson would need to "make Scotland feel that they are a much bigger part" of the UK, if he is to unify the country.
In the wide ranging interview, he also spoke about Prince Harry, the plan for HS2 and the resignation of Lord Tony Hall as Director General of the BBC.
