We sometimes take our dog when we travel and it can be a struggle for her to get in and out of the car. Plus our back seat can be a little small if we have our son with us. So I built a travel box that met 3 specific needs. It has steps to allow our dog to enter and exit the car easily. It is a seat platform extension for her to lay on. And it is a storage box to carry her lease, toys, and food.
