Meet Brian Frederiksen! Print Maker, Ceramicist, and Painter

Описание: Welcome Brian Frederiksen and hear about his journey as an artist!

"I am an artist and printmaker inspired by my relationship with landscapes. My work investigates my relationship to man-made objects, the places they are situated, and the tensions, harmonies, and personal narratives between them.

I use photographs, drawings and painted studies to set up the reduction prints. The monoprints are often a spontaneous thought expressed in a singular print. The reduction relief print process expresses the image best for the way I think. I am painting with shapes of color in a limiting process. The print and the scene share mortality as I carve away the surface until nothing is left. The image emerges as its vehicle of conveyance is destroyed. It parallels the field reclaiming the decaying dilapidated billboard. I ask what identity the scene wants to share with me."
