The Stayers' hurdle is a Grade 1 National Hunt hurdle race that is open to horses four years old and older. The race is held on the New Course at Cheltenham and covers a distance approximately 3 miles (7 furlongs and 213 metres, or 4,785 meters). There are 12 hurdles that must be jumped during the course. Each year, the race will be held during the Cheltenham Festival. This race is the Festival's feature race and is the longest-distance hurdle race in the National Hunt calendar.

In 1912, the inaugural race was held at Prestbury Park and covered 3 miles. The winner received PS100 (PS200) prize money and the runner-up PS10. The race was known as the "Stayers selling Hurdle", and the winner was sold for PS50. It was removed from the festival program twice in 1928-1929, 1939-1945 and 1946. However, it was replaced by the Spa Hurdle in 1946. This race had been previously run over 2 miles in 1923 and 1942. The Spa Hurdle was run the same 3 mile distance from 1946 to 1967, until it was renamed the Stayers' Hurdle in 1972 by Lloyds Bank. From 1978 to 1990, Waterford Crystal supported it. Bonusprint supported it from 1991 to 2004. The race was used to take place on the Tuesday or Wednesday of the Festival. However, it was moved to Thursday in 1993.

Ladbrokes became the sponsor in 2005 and changed the title to World Hurdle. The 2015 renewal of their sponsorship saw the end of their sponsorship and Ryanair sponsored the race in 2016. It was sponsored by Sun Bets in 2017 and 2018. In 2018, the title went to the Stayers’ Hurdle. Sun Racing has sponsored the race since 2019. Sun Racing has sponsored the Stayers' Hurdle since 2019. It was first held in 1912. The Cheltenham Festival currently hosts it on the third day. The Stayer's Hurdle, a Grade 1 race that covers three miles on Cheltenham's New Course, has twelve hurdles.
