Built-in npm feed support in Octopus 2026.1

Описание: Octopus Deploy 2026.1 introduces in-built NPM feed support, so you no longer need to repackage Node app builds into zip/tar files for deployment. This removes common pain points like extra CI steps, manual version syncing, poor traceability, and the lack of automatic release triggers from NPM registries.

The video walks through adding an NPM feed in Octopus using the External Feeds UI. You select the new npm feed type, enter the feed URL (public or private), and configure authentication if needed. Once saved, you can query packages directly in the Octopus feed and pull them into your deployments.

It also covers setting up external feed triggers. These triggers automatically create releases when new package versions appear in your NPM feed, cutting out manual release creation and extra CI pipeline steps.

This works with any NPM registry, including npmjs.com, Artifactory, and Nexus. The result is simpler pipelines, accurate versioning, direct traceability, and automated release workflows.
