Another fight where I gave up and borrowed somebody else's strategy. I say "gave up" but this stage can be soooo obnoxious. Here are some of its (annoying) mechanics:
-On the first turn of the fight, and also every 2 turns, your whole party is Silenced. Yep, you just have a whole turn where your support units cannot do anything. It is as annoying as it sounds, and even harder to deal with because...
-The two smaller enemies can screw around with your Moxie / Ult rotation. The Blue Ghost can delete 3 Moxie from one character with their Ult. And the Red Ghost can delete 1 Moxie with a regular Incantation, while its Ult inflicts Disconcert. The Moxie removal is incredibly annoying to fight around and you can't even consistently protect yourself from the Disconcert effect because...
-Boss Necrologist has this passive where she can dispel your entire party. Yes, you can cast Yenisei's Ult as the enemy is about to use their Ult, and if you're unlucky, Necrologist can just delete Yenisei's Immunity effect, letting you get hit with Disconcert anyway. I didn't even know it was possible for Yenisei's Immunity to get removed until this fight...
-All the enemies have everybody's 'favorite' mechanic, Moribund. Unlike 250M-I, you don't get an Assist Mondlicht. You have to deal with Necrologist constantly getting free revives. Like when she makes herself Incorporeal, you attack to remove the Incorporeal only to end up giving her another two free revives.
A prolonged fight is very, very difficult since the enemies will inflict stacks that cause you to take more damage. The only other strategy I've seen for this fight is "delete the boss with Windsong or Lilya ASAP" and I don't have either character, so I went with the Heal Reflect strategy.
I made some adjustments to the Heal Reflect strategy; no Tooth Fairy or Yenisei. If we get Disconcerted + Silenced, I want to be able to at least attack Necrologist instead having potentially 7/8 dead cards in my hand from having 3 Healers. As for why these characters: Mercuria has a "heal after Attacking" effect, so we still get healing in on Silenced turns while Balloon Party's percentage based heal comes in clutch, as always.
I'd feel worse about this, but the AI can be sooo infuriating when it feels like it. I already mentioned Necrologist removing my party's Immunity when I'm trying to block the enemy's Disconcert, I've had an enemy drain my Vila's Moxie, right before I'm about to use her Ult on a Silenced turn etc.
Повторяем попытку...
