Drum Major Ian Esson and Pipe Major James Cooper lead Ballater & District Pipe Band and Drum Majors off the Games field during the 2022 Aboyne Highland Games. These were held on Saturday 6th August 2022 on the green at Aboyne in Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The band are playing "Crags of Tumbledown Mountain" and the start of "The Braes of Killiecrankie" as they march off. The band had been playing for the Drum Majors' Mace over the banner competition and the Drum Majors march off into the Chieftain's tent.
Ballater & District Pipe Band was formed in 1993, with the forerunner being the Ballater Branch Air Training Corps Pipe Band of the 1950s and 1960s. These were funded and supported by Lady McRobert and in memory of this late patron, the band still wear Ancient Hunting Robertson tartan.
