A 550gr Gaelforce skagit being cast with 5 different rods ranging from an 11' switch rated 7/8 on the trout scale through to 14' spey rods rated 10/11 Rod actions varied.
While not shown a 15' 10/11 Norway speycaster also easily cast the 550gr skagit as did a 14' 8" Guideline Le Cie rated 9/10 although these rods are getting on the long side with 24' skagits and 15' tips but it can still be done especially if wading deep.
Same exercise was done with similar results with a 550 rio max
