Vienna shooting: several dead after 'repulsive terror attack' on eve of lockdown

Описание: At least four people have died after what Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz called a 'repulsive terror attack' on Monday night. A suspected attacker, who was carrying an assault rifle and a fake suicide vest, was shot and killed by police. The alleged perpetrator was described as a supporter of Islamic state by Austria's interior minister, Karl Nehammer.

Seventeen people, including a police officer, were being treated in hospitals after exchanges of gunfire, with seven in life-threatening conditions.

Austria's capital city was still on lockdown on Tuesday morning as police hunted for other possible attackers and made arrests at addresses linked to the suspected shooter.
