Winston Churchill became Great Britain’s Prime Minister on 10th May 1940 after the country had finally lost all faith in the great appeaser, Neville Chamberlain – the German invasion of the Lowland countries the final straw for a population now under the constant threat of tyranny.
This programme is a lasting tribute and commemoration to the man who defined ‘their finest hour’, and perhaps that famous epitaph, said proudly under clear again skies late in 1940, should be rewritten;
“Never have so many, owed so much, to one man”.
That man is Winston Churchill.
