Alberta is one of only two provinces in Canada without accessibility legislation. Bill 206 was introduced by Marie Renaud, Alberta's New Democrat Shadow Minister for Community and Social Services. If passed, this bill will set a clear path for province-wide standards covering employment, housing, transportation, health care, and education.
The UCP's own Disability Advocate recommended this legislation three years ago. The government has done nothing since. It's time Alberta caught up with the rest of the country.
