This is the first recording of Aria No. 29 by Giulio Taglietti, a violin teacher at the Jesuit college in Brescia and the first composer to introduce the 'da capo' form into instrumental music, borrowing it from the vocal genre.
Hermine Horiot and Giovanni Bellini recorded this wonderful Aria for the Album "Consobrinae".
Like the intricate patterns of brocade, "Consobrinae" reveals the harmonious interplay between two distinct instruments - the cello and the theorbo -, showcasing the cello’s evolution and the theorbo’s vital role in shaping the musical landscape of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
