WW2 Coastal Defenses: A British Coastal WW2 Artillary Site (Puckpool Park IOW)

Описание: Today wanted to talk about some local ww2 coastal defenses by visiting a local AA/Artillary site called Puckpool Park / Puckpool Battery. Puckpool is a WW2 British Coastal defense site aimed at preventing a naval invasion of the mainland. It was fitted out with several large-caliber Anti Naval guns, some of the same models as the Dreadnought class Battleship. It also had several anti-air guns and mortars, howitzer and guns of other calibers. The site was never really used as the germans didn't actually get to invade. But should they have tried, the Island battery would have been the first line of defense against an invasion of Portsmouth (the UK's most preeminent naval base and the home of the Royal Navy).
