STORYLINE:
Saudi-led coalition airstrikes targeted military facilities belonging to Yemen's Houthi rebels and their allies on Saturday, hitting a maintenance facility and a barracks for the country's Republican Guard.
The Republican Guard has allied itself with Yemen's former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, his son Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, and the Shiite Houthi rebels.
The coalition planes have intensified attacks on Houthi strongholds in the capital since a Houthi-led raid killed dozens of Arab coalition forces on 4 September.
As of Friday, two days of airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition targeting Yemen's Shiite rebels had killed seven civilians in the country's capital, Sanaa, independent security and health officials said Friday.
In the stricken area, many residents had fled their homes for safer neighbourhoods, away from rebel posts, while others have left the rebel-held Sanaa entirely, according to those who stayed behind.
Yemen has been torn by a ferocious war pitting the Houthis and forces fighting for former President Ali Abdullah Saleh against fighters loyal to exiled President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, as well as southern separatists, local militias and Sunni extremists.
