Music brings worlds together. ‘Not Without Cause’ is an experimental HipHop project between Russian rapper and producer, Jazzydubwise and Nigerian rapper, musician: Oyedele. It is leading edge rap with instrumentals borne from a mix of one-shot samples and live instruments– muted kicks, cracking hi-hats and tight snares. Oyedele and Jazzydubwise trade verses through the project in multiple languages: Russian, English, Yoruba, Pidgin– rapping about love, life, the streets, and euphoria of parties. Not Without Cause is a homage to HipHop culture, a testament to how far it has travelled and how direct its influence has been. Music brings worlds together– the project ‘Not Without Cause’ built a bridge between Yekaterinburg and Lagos.
