Former Premier League footballer Joey Barton has been sentenced to six months in custody, suspended for 18 months, for sending six offensive social media posts.
The former Manchester City player was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court for sending "grossly offensive" social media posts aimed at broadcaster Jeremy Vine and football pundits Lucy Ward and Eni Aluko.
The Judge called Barton's attacks "targeted, extreme and harmful", adding that they were "racially aggravated".
