CORRYVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) - A veteran at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center died Tuesday and a police officer investigating the death was treated with Narcan, VA officials said.
The officer was investigating an "unexpected veteran death" after a veteran was found unresponsive at the VA around 9:30 a.m. and attempts to revive the vet were unsuccessful. The cause of the veteran's death is currently under investigation.
The VA police officer was treated with Narcan as a precaution and was doing well, according to a press release. The veteran who died was found unconscious and could not be revived.
It's not clear what substance the officer may have been exposed to but it could have been an opioid.
Drug-sniffing dogs were brought to the hospital, but there's no indication if the animals found anything.
