Описание: Our world is divided. Everyday we face cultural, social, and geographic barriers: the power of food rises above these boundaries. Food helps connect people of countless cultural backgrounds. My Ted talk explores the foods remarkable ability to break down barriers and foster cultural exchange. My talk dives into the role of food as a global language which speaks to our senses, memories, emotions, and connects us with the culture as a whole. From spices of the Silk Road to flavors of street food in all corners of the world, my speech will explore how food acts as a window into the heart of cultures while challenging stereotypes and bias along the way. This talk also highlights cooking as a form of direct engagement with other cultures and global impact food tourism. By the conclusion, the audience will have a deeper appreciation for the wonderful powers of food and how its used to promote understanding, uniting people, and breaking down barriers. Aarav Patel is a freshman at Lakeside High School and is a part of the pre-IB program. He loves math, science, music, and food and participates in a few clubs at his school, including the STEM club. He enjoys music and listens to various genres, including Rap and Rock. Aarav is the current Sergeant at Arms at the local Toastmasters International Gavel Club. The club helps him build and strengthen his communication and leadership skills. Apart from all this, his greatest passion is food, which brought him to his topic today.
