Paramount Skydance just bought out the ownership stake Tyler Perry Studios held in BET+, clearing the way for the platform to close. Tyler Perry added to his empire through his partnership with Black Entertainment Television which was an amazing opportunity for black media. Now that chapter as we know it, is closing.

Since Paramount purchased the equity stake Tyler Perry owner starting this summer, over 1,000 hours of BET+ content will move to Paramount+ inside a dedicated BET Networks Hub including All the Queen's Men, Zatima, The Ms. Pat Show, and more.

Black Entertainment Television raised a generation. BET gave us 106 & Park, BET Music, and a space that was unapologetically ours. That history , that culture, is what made BET amazing.
