Today I'm testing 4 ways to deal with that bottom resonant head on conversion electronic drum-sets: Open, vs mesh, vs acoustic head, vs acoustic head and blanket) What's the quietest???
After testing all of them individually with a volume meter it turns out that they are all very similar to each other. In general the best way to handle it is to have a resonant head of some kind. It lowers the volume a tiny bit. My best result was the acoustic head with blanket, and the mesh resonant head.
