Broghill Valley to Ishkoman Valley (100km trek ).
Duration : 10 days.
Difficulty : Moderate/ Hard.
Adjacent area : Wakhan corridor / Pak afghan border
Total budget 40k+
So after getting Unemployed from job and ditched by my friends in mid of august , i decided to plan a solo trip to karomber lake(later on changed to 100km ishkoman valley )which is located near Wakhan corridor (Pak afghan border) but deep inside i was sure kae bhai lootae jao gae Afghan border pr jaa kr as i was carrying camera and drone equipment. However , I had the most amazing experience over there along with making some new friends.
In brief , the terrain was long & tough , crossing 3 glaciers and their crevasses,climbing mountains to cross rivers , it was hard but was WORTH IT !!


DAY 1 : Lahore to Dir.
( from lari ada (yutong bus) ). Fare 1400 ,10hour trip.
Dir to Chitral (Pvt Taxi 1000rs)
Night stay in chitral.

DAY 2 : Chitral to Yarkhun Lasht.
Shared jeep (18 ppl sit in jeep ), (take front seat if you are alone ) (fare 800rs ,duration
17hr) (jeeps don't have fixed schedule , when the local of yarkhun valley wants to travel
they hire a jeep) .(PVT jeep till Lahskargaz minimum 20k one side)

Night stay in yarkhun lasht . ( If you are solo , local driver will host you. )

DAY 3: Yarkhun Lasht to Lashkargaz
On your way to Lashkargaz , you have to submit your cnic to chitral scout if you are
Coming back to chitral , as we were travelling to gilgit , they just entered our details .
If roads condition are good the jeep will take you to lashkargaz , otherwise they will
Stop at Ishkarwaz , and you have to walk .Furthermore you can hire a horse or
donkey(1500) to take your stuff to Lashkargaz.
Camp stay if you are not travelling with a guide. And consume your canned food.
At chitral scouts i met 3 ppl from islamabad , and joined them for trek till ishkoman .

DAY 4: Lashkargaz to Lal e Ribaat. 20km
Hire a horse 6000rs if you can't trek .(you won't find any horse after lashkargaz).
Hire a donkey for all of your luggage,(4000rs) till karomber lake both sides.
Camp stay at lal e RIbaat

DAY 5: Lal e Ribaat to Karomber lake (10km)
Enjoy your day here.

DAY 6: Karomber lake to swing (15km )
camp stay at chhateboi Glacier.(one of the most beautiful campsite)
DAY 7: Chhateboi Glacier to Sugtrabad (15km)
Camp stay.
DAY 8: Sugtrabad to Pikaan police station (15km)
You have to cross to glaciers ( Chilinji and sugtrabad )
The terrain is dangerous and tough due to Chilinji Glacier .
Sometimes you have to climb mountains to cross river, so be prepared.
The 3km of track is all big stones and you have to walk over them.
Stay at the police station.
DAY 9: Pikaan police station to Mitram das .
Hire a jeep from here to take you to gilgit.
IMP. Places: Yarkhun valley, Broghill valley, Karomber lake , Chhetaboi glacier , Chilinji
Glacier , Qalandar Zom , Ishkoman valley.
P.S:
Sometimes due flooding you have to cross nala , which is quite dangerous so be
prepared.
Always take 2 3 days of extra supplies of food and medicine.
Take a gas cylinder from Chitral to be on the safe side as there is no gas after
mastuj.
As altitude is above 3500m so no trees for fire .
Waterproof tent raincoat , warm jacket , sunblock , hat is a must.
Prices of food and jeep rides and go skyrocketing after flooding so at least take
50k per person in hard cash. NO easy paisa and atm available after mastuj.
Instead of taking biscuit/chocolates/ , carry dry fruits.
Bring a lot of muscle relaxant and anti emesis tablets with you for dealing with
Nausea and altitude sickness.
Burn your trash as you leave the campsite (uthana tu hai nahi tu jal dena) and give
Tin cans to locals.
Please give a good amount of tips to the locals of the area as they are very
hardworking, honest and hospitable.
