This happened a few years ago, and to this day it’s still one of the most satisfying moments of petty justice I’ve ever experienced.
My boyfriend at the time asked me to sell a $600 car radio on Facebook Marketplace. A buyer from out of state agreed to pay $400 — half upfront, half after delivery. Rookie mistake? Trusting him.
He received the item. Confirmed delivery.
Then disappeared without sending the remaining $200.
But here’s the thing… his Facebook profile was completely public.
Friends list. Wife. Parents. Workplace. Everything.
So after being ignored for days, I stopped asking nicely.
I messaged his wife.
His mom.
His dad.
His siblings.
Then I called his job and left a voicemail saying he’d know exactly what this was about.
The next morning? Payment received.
