Описание: বাংলাদেশ সশস্ত্র বাহিনী হচ্ছে বাংলাদেশের সামরিক বাহিনী যা সেনা, নৌ ও বিমান বাহিনীর সদস্যদের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত। পাশাপাশি বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশ এবং বাংলাদেশ কোস্ট গার্ডসহ অন্যান্য আধা সামরিক বাহিনীগুলো সাধারণ সময়ে স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের অধীনে থাকে, তবে যুদ্ধকালীন সময়ে তারা বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনী বাংলাদেশ বিমানবাহিনী এবং বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনীর অধীনে পরিচালিত হয় ।

বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রপতি সামরিক বাহিনীর সর্বাধিনায়ক এবং প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রনালয় হল প্রধান প্রশাসনিক প্রতিষ্ঠান যেখানে সামরিক আইন তৈরী ও বাস্তবায়ন করা হয়। বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশের প্রধানমন্ত্রীই বাংলাদেশের প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রী। সামরিক নীতিমালা এবং কূটনৈতিক সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণে সহায়তা প্রদানের জন্য রাষ্ট্রপতি এবং প্রধানমন্ত্রীর একটি ছয় সদস্যবিশিষ্ট একটি উপদেষ্টা কমিটি রয়েছে। এই উপদেষ্টা কমিটির সদস্যরা হলেন বাংলাদেশ সামরিক বাহিনীর অন্তর্গত তিন বাহিনীর প্রধান, সামরিক বাহিনী বিভাগের প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা এবং রাষ্ট্রপতি ও প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সামরিক সচিবগণ। এছাড়া এনএসআই, ডিজিএফআই, এবং বিজিবি এর সাধারণ পরিচালকগণ এই উপদেষ্টা পদের ক্ষমতাপ্রাপ্ত।

সশস্ত্র বাহিনী দিবস সাংবার্ষিকভিত্তিতে ২১ নভেম্বর বাংলাদেশে পালন করা হয়। ১৯৭১ সালের এই দিনে বাংলাদেশের সেনা, নৌ ও বিমান বাহিনী সম্মিলিতভাবে মুক্তিযুদ্ধে পাকিস্তানি বাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে আক্রমণের সূচনা করে ।

অতঃপর ১৬ ডিসেম্বর, ১৯৭১ সালে বাংলাদেশ-ভারতের সেনাদের নিয়ে গড়া মিত্রবাহিনীর কাছে পাকিস্তান হানাদার বাহিনীর প্রায় তিরানব্বই হাজার সেনা আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে রেসকোর্স ময়দানে আত্মসমর্পণ করে। এ আত্মসমর্পণের মধ্য দিয়েই বিশ্ব মানচিত্রে স্বাধীন-সার্বভৌম বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয়ের পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধ-এর পরিসমাপ্তি ঘটে।

ঢাকা সেনানিবাসে অবস্থিত শিখা অনির্বাণে মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতি, প্রধানমন্ত্রী এবং তিন বাহিনীর প্রধানদের পুষ্পস্তবকের মাধ্যমে দিবসটি শুরু হয়। বিকেলে সেনাকুঞ্জে প্রধানমন্ত্রী, মন্ত্রীবর্গ, বিরোধী দলীয় নেতা এবং অন্যান্য উচ্চপর্যায়ের সামরিক-বেসামরিক ব্যক্তিবর্গ সংবর্ধনায় সমবেত হন। অন্যান্য সেনানিবাস, নৌ ও বিমানঘাঁটিতে অনুরূপ সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। বাংলাদেশ বেতার ও বিভিন্ন টেলিভিশন চ্যানেলে অনির্বাণ নামীয় বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান সম্প্রচার করা হয়। দৈনিক সংবাদপত্রসমূহে বিশেষ ক্রোড়পত্র প্রকাশ করা হয়। মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদেরকে প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও তিন বাহিনীর প্রধান কর্তৃক পুরস্কৃত করা হয়। সকল সেনা ঘাঁটিতে উন্নতমানের খাবার পরিবেশন করা হয়। সেনাবিভাগের প্রকাশনা থেকে যুদ্ধ ও সামরিক বাহিনী সম্পর্কীয় বিশেষ নিবন্ধ সহযোগে প্রকাশনা বের করা হয়।

The Bangladesh Armed Forces is the military force of Bangladesh which consists of members of the Army , Navy and Air Force. Besides, other paramilitary forces including the Border Guard Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Coast Guard are under the Ministry of Home Affairs during normal times , but in times of war they operate under the Bangladesh Army , Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Navy .

The President of Bangladesh is the Commander-in-Chief of the military and the Ministry of Defense is the main administrative institution where martial law is formulated and implemented. Currently the Prime Minister of Bangladesh is the Defense Minister of Bangladesh. The President and Prime Minister have a six-member advisory committee to provide assistance in military policy and diplomatic decision-making. The members of this advisory committee are the chiefs of the three forces of the Bangladesh military, the chief executive officer of the military department and the military secretaries of the president and prime minister. Besides , the General Directors of NSI , DGFI , and BGB are empowered in this advisory capacity.

Armed Forces Day is celebrated on 21st November in Bangladesh . On this day in 1971, the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force jointly launched an attack against the Pakistani forces in the Liberation War.

Then on December 16, 1971, about ninety-three thousand soldiers of the Pakistan invasion force formally surrendered at the Race Course Maidan to the allied forces of Bangladesh and India. Through this surrender, the independence war of Bangladesh came to an end along with the development of independent-sovereign Bangladesh on the world map.

The day started with garlanding of His Excellency the President , the Prime Minister and the Chiefs of the three Armed Forces at Shikha Anirban located in Dhaka Cantonment . In the afternoon , the Prime Minister, Ministers , Leaders of the Opposition and other senior military-civilian dignitaries gathered for a reception at Senakunj. Similar receptions are organized at other cantonments , naval and air bases. A special program called Anirban is broadcast on Bangladesh Betar and various television channels. Special circulars are published in daily newspapers . To the freedom fightersAwarded by the Prime Minister and the Chiefs of the three Armed Forces . Good quality food is served in all army bases . Publications with special articles on war and the military are drawn from Department of War publications.
